ITMO University, the host of this trip, is the leading Russian university in the field of IT, photonic technologies and robotics.

The 2019 Latin American Edition of the Jack F. Ealy Science Journalism Workshop will bring together reporters and editors for a professional development workshop to present practical, hands-on training sessions to sharpen reporting skills on the most pressing science, health and environmental issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. Several sessions during this workshop will be conducted in Spanish.

Organised by the Balkan Network of science journalists, this event will be held in Lausanne, and will therefore ensure the presence of many journalists from the Balkans at the WCSJ.

Fuse is a series of one-day workshops where up to 25 science journalists will get the opportunity to explore new technologies and methods that they never had a chance to explore before.
